is a non-political, non-partisan, non-profit Lineage Society

The National Society was created by an Act of the United States Congress on June 9, 1906.

The SAR was conceived as a fraternal and civic society composed of lineal descendants of the patriots who wintered at Valley Forge, signed the Declaration of Independence, fought in the battles of the American Revolution, served in the Continental Congress, and/or supported the cause of American Independence.

If you are Patriotic and think you have an ancestor who participated during the Revolutionary War and would like to honor their memory, this is the society for you. Be proud of the Liberty and Independence you have today.

Tracing your family back to the American Revolution can be a daunting task, so we have a team that can make your search easier. Every generation has to be documented and only forefathers and foremothers can be used, direct line.

You get more than the patriot ancestor, you will receive the names, dates, places, and marriages of all your ancestors that can be found between you and your patriot.
