Biography:

Major in NY Regiment of artillary commissioned early 1776.  He returned to his post in West Point after the close of the New York campaign.  When the army disbanded he returned to New York city and took command of the NY regiment of artillary in the state service.  He received a Federal appointment of Postmaster in New York City.
